The name of the wine is from don Recaredo Ossa, affectionately named Don Reca. These wines are very limited in quantity and are produced with a meticulous commitment to the finest quality and craftsmanship. Proud of heritage.
A rich, full bodied and powerful wine. Aromas of mint and red berries tempt the nose. On the palate there is a concentration of sweet plum, cassis, chocolate and mint. Saturated, inky blackish-ruby hue. Maturing brown spice and ripe black fruit aromas carry a leathery, gamey edge. A lush entry leads a rounded, full-bodied palate with a firm core of deep fruit flavors and a lavish oak undertone. Chewy tannins mark the dusty, spicy finish. A fat, flashy style to drink in youth--try with hearty winter stews.
